A trip to Penang is never complete without enjoying the local food.

Gurney Drive. Some of the taste of the famous dishes have greatly been washed down. Sad.

Real authentic roadside food. Super good. Well, when you have survived the food of China, these are nothing. Even the kids enjoy them. Love the sight, the sound and the colours

Penang famous chendol. Now there are two stalls selling chendol in this lane which is very famous for the dessert. Yours truly have tried both because I was very curious. One has a long Q and the other no need to wait. Yes, you must have guessed it. The one with no Q was the better one. That was what the taxi driver told us and it was 101% true. Humans are strange creatures. They flock to where everyone is eating, everyone is buying, everyone is doing… without realising that it is just a herd mentality. They have missed the best chendol in town. Thick coconut milk, strong gula melaka taste and a generous helping of red beans. *Slurp*

Penang famous Hainanese chicken rice. Well, as a true blue Hainanese, I will rate it 7/10. Not superb but good enough

When in Malaysia, of course must see IT and eat IT.

Part of the fun of eating durians in Malaysia is to eat among Mother Nature and her creatures. Not your XO, D24 or mo san wang. It is the red flesh durain. Very good is an understatement.

Speechless, wordless...

Right after the last bite, the rain started pouring. God is GOOD!

A short trip

Now that we are back, we decided to pay a visit to our friendly neighbour. We made a short trip to Penang. This time we avoided the beach. It is year-end, rainy season. Make sense. Instead, we stayed at Georgetown, a UNESCO heritage site. It was the right choice as we brought ourselves back to yester years…

The bedroom. Big enough for a king-size bed plus two single beds. Deco is very old-style but done in good taste.

This nasi lemak is simply yummlicious. I ate it every morning. The best coconut rice I have ever tasted. Maybe using the newspaper helps.

Yes, it is him again…for another term

The 45th President of the US of A – Mr Obama .

Like all politicians, Obama has his own group of detractors but I like him. I like him because he was the underdog in 2008 election. I like him because he represented the lower-middle income. I have read his autobiography, he was not born with a silver spoon. He worked hard to move up. I like him because I see the average Americans in him.

To be fair, it wasn't that he didn't do a good job but he inherited loads of mess. In the four years, he did help to clear some. That wasn't easy. To have him for the next four years may probably see US of A propel to her glorious days again. We will see.

Oh, one more thing…I like him cos he doesn't need millions to do a good job.

All the best, Mr President!
